Joel and Luisa hired one of the best wedding photographers around, Ernesto Olivares (ernieolivares.com). That made shooting this wedding both easy and hard at the same time. Easy because Ernie was really great to work with. He and his team were very nice, professional and very accommodating. Hard, because it put a lot of pressure on me to deliver the same quality he puts in his photography work in my video. The ceremony was particularly tough to shoot, as most Catholic weddings are, with all the restriction inside the church. Aside from a few hiccups, though, we were able to pull through and capture the bride and groom exchange vows of unconditional love for each other. Hope you enjoy this short highlight of their wedding.
The rain poured all morning and stopped about an hour before the ceremony. Just enough time for the staff to wipe the lawn chairs dry before the procession began. It was as if the heavens cleared up for Sammy and Tony….but only for a while. Right in the middle of the event, as family and friends look on to the love struck couple, the sky darkened and a drizzle turned into a downpour. Then, everyone, cameramen included, crowded into the gazebo where Sammy and Tony said their vows, exchanged rings and kissed each other for the first time as husband and wife. What started as a traditional formal ceremony, turned into an intimate and beautiful wedding between two lovely people and their families. Enjoy.
I think now would be a good time to switch back to Nikon… 🙂 Wooohoo…I want a D800!
